Average cars are about 6½′ wide and 16′ long. Full-size pickups run about 7′ wide and 20′ long. Here is how each width works in real life.
20′ wide
About 3′ between and beside vehicles. Fine for compact cars, tight for opening doors.
22′ wide
Fits two cars or a car and a truck with room to get in and out.
24′ wide
Two full-size vehicles with room to open doors, walk around and unload groceries.

FAQ
A 20′ × 21′ two-car carport starts at $1,795 with a regular roof, $1,995 with a boxed eave roof and $2,395 with a vertical roof, installed with 6′ legs. Our most popular 24′ × 26′ size starts at $2,795 regular and $3,595 vertical.
The smallest is 20′ wide by 21′ long. That fits two cars, but doors are tight. We recommend 22′ to 24′ wide and at least 26′ long so you can open doors and park full-size trucks.
Standard 6′ legs fit most cars. Choose 7′ to 8′ for SUVs and pickups, and 9′ to 10′ for lifted trucks, vans or a roof rack. On a 24′ × 26′ carport, 8′ legs add $215 and 10′ legs add $395.
For most Florida homes, the vertical roof. Its panels run top to bottom so rain and debris slide off, and it performs best in high wind. A boxed eave roof is the budget way to get a house-style look.
Yes. You can add side panels, ends, a roll-up door and a walk-in door later. If you think you will enclose it, order 9′ legs or taller now so a standard garage door fits.
